Rava Idli is an alternative to the steamed rice-lentil Idli and is made from semolina, blended with yogurt and steamed in an Idli cooker. Whole jeera, green chillies and fresh coriander are traditionally added. You can tweak the recipe to include grated carrots and a little ginger to make it even more nutritious.
Making Rava Idli
1. Mix 1 measure (500g) of mix with ½ measure (250g) of sour curd. Add chopped coriander leaves.
2. After 1 minute, add 1 more measure (500g) of sour curd and mix well.
3. After 2 minutes, steam the batter in an Idli cooker for 10-12 minutes.
